North of Ribeauvillé, in the township of Bergheim, this vineyard is located on the south face of the Grasberg knoll on steep slopes containing very rocky, shallow marl-limestone soils that are rich in fossils.
A caracteristic nose of ripe citrus fruits, of lemon. The mouth of this Riesling Grand Cru Altenberg is ample and massive with great power and a long lingering.
This Riesling Grand Cru Altenberg will be perfect on any noble fish in a sauce, lobster and scallops.
Serve between 10 and 12°C. Carafe if possible one hour before serving to allow the aromas to open up. A wine for long aging, 10 years or more. It will age favorably and gain in complexity.
