Gewurztraminer Red Nose
Haguenau is one of the most famous ‘lieu-dit’ of our region. Located on the sloping hill-sides of Ribeauvillé and Bergheim with a great south and south-east sun exposure, these chalky-marly soils are shallow and stony.
This wine has been elaborated using the very particular ‘ice wine’ method : the fruits were harvested the 21st december 2004 by -3°C outside. This Gewurztraminer has intense, rich and elegant aromas with complex notes of candied figs and dried-apricots. The mouth feel is rich, round with a very fresh final. Unforgettable…
This Gewurztraminer has a great smoothness and is sufficient unto itself. He will be perfect to highlight lime and strawberry pancakes.
Serve between 10 and 12°C. It should ideally be decanted 1 hour in carafe before serving to fully express its aromas. This Gewurztraminer can age easily more than 10 years.
