To the north of Ribeauvillé, in the township of Bergheim, this vineyard is located on the south face of the Grasberg knoll on steep slopes containing very rocky, shallow marl-limestone soils that are rich in fossils.A powerful nose with dried and crystalised fruits aromas for this Pinot Gris Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim . The wine has a soft and well-structured mouth, round at first with a good balance coming from its mature acidity that is a sign of its noble origin.
This Pinot Gris Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim is an ideal companion for skillet-cooked foie gras. Discover it with dishes based on mushrooms, duck, roasted veal or game.Wine for long aging, 10 years or more. The notes of citrus fruits are moving progressively towards exotic fruits.Serve between 10 and 12°C. Carafe if possible one hour before serving to allow the aromas to open up.
